Editorial Policy
Last updated: May 2026
ronntorossian.com is the personal publication of Ronn Torossian, Founder & Chairman of 5W Public Relations. The Site exists to share his perspective on public relations, crisis management, branding, marketing, business strategy, and the broader communications industry. This Editorial Policy explains how content is created, sourced, reviewed, and corrected — and the principles we hold ourselves to.
Trust is the most important currency in publishing. This policy is intended to make our standards visible so readers can hold us accountable.
1. Editorial Independence
All articles, commentary, and analysis published on this Site are written independently by Ronn Torossian. The opinions expressed are his own and do not necessarily represent the views of 5W Public Relations, its clients, employees, partners, vendors, investors, or any other organization with which he is affiliated.
No third party — including clients, sponsors, advertisers, agencies, public-relations firms, or political organizations — pays for, commissions, reviews, approves, edits, or otherwise influences the editorial content published on the Site. Coverage decisions, including which topics to write about and what position to take, are made solely by Ronn. There are no "pay-to-play" placements, no sponsored posts disguised as editorial, and no quid pro quo arrangements of any kind.
2. Authorship
Every article published on the Site is authored by Ronn Torossian unless explicitly stated otherwise. From time to time, the Site may feature guest commentary, interviews, or excerpts; in those cases the contributor will be clearly identified at the top of the article, along with any relevant affiliations or disclosures.
Ronn personally writes, edits, and approves every article before publication. Research, formatting, and editorial assistance may be performed by team members or tools, but final responsibility rests with Ronn.
3. Sources, Sourcing Standards, and Accuracy
We strive to publish accurate, well-sourced commentary. Our sourcing principles:
- When we cite a fact, statistic, study, or quote from another publication, we credit and link to the original source whenever possible.
- We prefer primary sources (official statements, filings, transcripts, direct interviews) over secondary reporting when both are available.
- Where a source is anonymous or off-the-record, we explain why anonymity was granted and characterize the source's standing.
- We do not knowingly publish information from sources that have a clear financial or political stake in misrepresenting the facts without disclosing that interest.
- We distinguish clearly between reported fact, expert analysis, and personal opinion.
Despite these efforts, errors occasionally occur. If you spot one, please email ronn@5wpr.com. We will review every credible report and correct any factual error promptly.
4. Opinion vs. Reporting
The Site is primarily an opinion and analysis publication. Articles reflect Ronn's professional perspective and judgment, informed by more than 25 years building and leading one of the largest independent PR firms in the United States. Articles are not investigative journalism, legal advice, financial guidance, medical advice, or any other form of regulated professional counsel. Readers should consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on anything published here.
5. Conflicts of Interest & Disclosures
When an article discusses a company, brand, executive, or organization with which Ronn or 5W Public Relations has a material business, financial, or personal relationship, that relationship is disclosed within the article itself. This includes current and recent clients, vendors, investors, board roles, and personal investments.
Ronn does not write articles designed to promote 5WPR clients without disclosure, nor does he write articles designed to damage competitors of clients. Where avoiding a topic entirely is more appropriate than disclosing, Ronn will recuse himself.
6. Use of AI Tools
We are transparent about how technology assists our workflow. AI tools may be used for research assistance, summarization, formatting, grammar checking, headline ideation, or first-draft scaffolding. However, every published article is reviewed, edited, fact-checked, and approved by Ronn before publication. AI is a tool, not an author. The opinions, judgments, and conclusions are his.
We do not publish fully AI-generated articles as if they were written by a human, and we do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, or statistics.
7. Corrections & Updates
We take corrections seriously. Our practice:
- Substantive corrections (factual errors, misattributions, misquotations) are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date and a brief description of what changed.
- Significant updates that change the meaning of an article after publication are flagged with an "Updated:" notice.
- Minor copy edits (typos, grammar, formatting) may be made silently.
- If an article is withdrawn entirely, an explanatory note will remain at the original URL.
8. Right of Reply
If you are an individual or organization named in an article and believe a material fact is incorrect, you are entitled to a fair right of reply. Email ronn@5wpr.com with your concern and supporting evidence. We will respond promptly and, where warranted, correct, clarify, or update the article.
9. Privacy & Sensitive Reporting
We aim to balance the public interest in commentary on businesses, brands, and public figures with respect for private individuals. We avoid publishing private personal information about individuals who are not public figures and who are not central to a matter of public concern. We do not publish content that could put a source at physical or professional risk without their informed consent.
10. Reader Engagement, Pitches & Tips
We welcome thoughtful feedback, story tips, and pitches. Send them to ronn@5wpr.com. We read every message but cannot guarantee a personal response. Unsolicited materials are subject to the submission terms in our Terms & Conditions.
11. Updates to This Policy
Editorial standards evolve. We may revise this Editorial Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material revisions will be announced on the Site.
