Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how ronntorossian.com (the "Site," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about visitors. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal data transparently, lawfully, and in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, and other applicable state and national privacy frameworks.
By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide directly — when you contact us, subscribe to updates, submit a pitch, or otherwise communicate with us, we collect details such as your name, email address, organization, phone number, and the content of your message.
- Usage and device data — collected automatically when you visit the Site, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages, language preferences, and access timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies — such as pixels, beacons, local storage, and SDKs. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
- Analytics data — aggregated statistics about how visitors interact with the Site, gathered through providers such as Google Analytics, Plausible, or similar tools.
- Communications — any correspondence you have with us, retained for recordkeeping and follow-up.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health data, or biometric data) and ask that you do not submit such information through the Site.
2. How We Use Information
We process information for the following purposes:
- To respond to inquiries, pitches, and feedback you send us.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and its content.
- To measure and analyze traffic, content engagement, and editorial performance.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or governmental requests.
- To send occasional editorial newsletters or updates if you have explicitly opted in.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA / UK Visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, analytics, and marketing communications.
- Legitimate interests — for operating the Site, securing it, and understanding how it is used, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where processing is required by law.
- Performance of a contract — when responding to your requests or providing services you have asked for.
4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We may disclose information to:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site (hosting, analytics, email delivery, content delivery networks, security monitoring), under contractual obligations to safeguard data and use it only as instructed.
- Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants, and auditors, when necessary for legal, regulatory, or business purposes.
- Authorities or third parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others.
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
5. International Data Transfers
The Site is operated from the United States and information collected may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect cross-border transfers.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten") of personal data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing activities.
- Receive your personal data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (CCPA/CPRA).
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or data-protection regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, contact ronn@5wpr.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally 30–45 days). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including satisfying legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Contact correspondence is typically retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days unless required for security investigations.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and routine monitoring. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. You can manage tracking via the cookie controls described in our Cookie Policy.
11. California Privacy Rights
California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for a reasonable period.
